This includes conducting scientific research, planting new forests, ecological monitoring, scientific research, environmental education and promoting sustainable tourism.

FAQs

What environmental issues does Nosara have?

Curious about the environmental challenges you’ll face during your environmental internship in Nosara? These are the three main ones:

  1. More people, more problems: As more tourists visit Nosara, there’s a risk of harming the environment by building too much and causing issues like deforestation, pollution, and harming natural habitats.
  2. Bringing nature back: Cattle farming used to dominate the land near Nosara, leading to deforestation and ecosystem damage. But you can help restore the area by working on projects that bring back plants and support diverse life.
  3. Protecting wildlife: Construction and development can block paths animals use to move around, which can hurt their populations. That’s why local groups are working to create and keep open animal corridors, like tree bridges, so creatures can move safely around their homes.

Is the Nosara community environmentally conscious?

Yes! Nosara is known for its amazing wildlife and eco-tourism. The people there want to grow, but they also want to protect the environment. They really care about using less and being sustainable, and they work hard to make sure their surroundings are safe.

What knowledge and skills will I learn at my environmental internship?

Our program is your chance to learn new ways to protect the environment. In addition, you’ll get better at communicating across different cultures, working with a team, and being flexible. Plus, you’ll discover more about Latin America’s development issues. Finally, this internship will teach you a ton about conservation and sustainability, and give you skills that’ll help you both in your career and in your personal life.
